We play a supportive role and provide help in the conception of ideas, evaluation of concepts, implementation of projects and value creation of products and services. History Blue Cluster was established at the end of 2017 as a partnership for the development and promotion of economic activities linked to the sea. Over 180 enthusiastic companies and knowledge institutions have joined since then. Internal organisation Blue Cluster has a rather horizontal structure in which each team member can play a leading role in certain areas. A clear distinction is made between innovation management on the one hand and community management on the other. Steering Committee The Steering Committee is responsible for operational follow-up and decision-making on the cluster projects in which The Blue Cluster is involved. Steering Committee members discuss the pipeline of projects and approve projects for the spearhead cluster budget. Scientific Advisory Board The Scientific Advisory Board assesses projects with a strong research potential and provides advice on these projects to the Steering Committee. All relevant knowledge institutions with a link to the blue economy are represented in this board. SME Committee Blue Cluster has numerous small and medium-sized enterprises among its members. The SME Committee defends the interests of these members and pays particular attention to the identification of innovation opportunities for this group of companies.
