Our twenty-first call for projects launched on 12 January 2026. Every proposal that fits within the roadmaps of Blue Cluster and meets the conditions for cooperation is eligible for financial support. Do you have a good idea for an innovative project linked to the sea? Submit your proposal.
Preparing a project application
Would you like to learn more about how you can submit a project proposal to Blue Cluster? Check out a visual presentation of the process as well as further information about the modalities of the different project types on our website in the section “project application”.
We highly recommend you to have one of our innovation managers assess your project beforehand. This way, you are 100% certain that your proposal is admissible.
Submitting a project application
Project proposals for R&D projects, ICON projects or pilots are to be submitted to Blue Cluster by the deadline in the form of a 10-pager. Upon approval by the Steering Committee, the 10-pager is to be fleshed out into a full proposal for submission with VLAIO on Friday 22 May 2026.
This project call is not open to new cSBR projects. This means it is not possible to submit proposals for cSBR projects to Blue Cluster in the form of a 2-pager within the scope of this call. It is nevertheless possible for cSBR projects with an approved 2-pager to submit a 10-pager during this call.
However, the annual separate call for cSBR projects is currently open. New project ideas for strategic basic research can be submitted within that framework.
