Our sixteenth project call has been open since 1 December. Project proposals can be submitted until 2 Feburary. The present call is open to all innovation domains of Blue Cluster and to all project types, including completely new cSBE projects. Feasibility studies can be submitted throughout the year.

The CORDOBA project, which focuses on sustainable design and operation of hybrid offshore connections and offshore grids, will end at the end of December. Several scientific publications have already been published on the project.

From October 23 to 27, various members and partners of Blue Cluster took part in an economic mission to Australia. This was an excellent opportunity to put the flourishing blue economy in Flanders on the international map.

The partners in the eMSP-NBSR project recently met in Stockholm to discuss the implementation of multi-use and the creation of mariparks in the North Sea and Baltic Sea area. A report outlining their most important findings is now available.

The SeaVolt consortium has installed its first offshore solar platform at the Blue Accelerator test site near the port of Ostend. The aim is to test the platform extensively in order to further refine the design.

On 20 September, Belgian Minister of Justice and the North Sea Vincent Van Quickenborne signed the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Treaty. This agreement is the result of more than 17 years of negotiations at the United Nations.
