Innovation for defense: help build a safer future
VLAIO is looking for innovative projects that enable both civilian and defense applications. The focus is on technologies that contribute to security, sustainability, digitalisation or strategic independence. Think of solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), communications, robotics, energy or materials.
The call is aimed at companies and knowledge institutions based in Flanders. Projects can apply for support within the framework of industrial research or experimental development. Collaborations are strongly recommended, especially with partners inside or outside the defense sector. A budget of €10 million is available for the call.
Criteria
The main evaluation criteria for submitted project proposals are:
- Innovative nature and technological added value;
- Potential for dual use (both civil and defense applications);
- Economic and/or societal impact in Flanders;
- Implementation and feasibility of the project;
- Quality of cooperation and partners involved.
