VUB scores another award with Supersized 4.0
The EERA DeepWind 2024 Conference took place from January 17 to 19 in the Norwegian city of Trondheim. About 300 scientists, experts and industry representatives attended the event to discuss the latest developments in offshore wind energy research and innovation.
The conference program included various keynote speakers from leading experts, a panel debate, a wide range of scientific presentations, two poster sessions and numerous networking moments.
At the end of the conference, the poster awards were presented. One award was presented for best content, and two awards for best presentation. Kayacan Kestel, PhD researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, managed to win the award for best content.
In his paper, Kayacan discussed the results of monitoring data measured on the main bearings of offshore wind turbines in the Norther and Northwester wind farms as part of the Supersized 4.0 project. The newly developed drivetrain CMS measuring system and data processing pipelines were used for this purpose.
