Relive Blue Cluster’s activities at G-STIC Dubai

Blue Cluster’s scope includes all sustainable economic activities, at, on and in the sea. We therefore feel strongly about leading the Oceans section at G-STIC. This time, the programme included a deep dive and the Blue Innovation Awards ceremony.

After an opening speech by Minister-President of Flanders Jan Jambon, Marijn Rabaut (Blue Cluster), Alexander D’Hooghe (ORG Permanent Modernity), Marcus Haward (University of Tasmania), Catalina Spataru (University College London), Zinzi Reimert (North Sea Farmers) and Peter Thomson (UN Special Envoy for the Ocean) elaborated on the role artificial islands can play in the blue economy.

The Blue Innovation Party Antwerp (Monday 25 October)

In addition to the activities in Dubai, we also organised a parallel event in Antwerp. The programme included some interesting speeches and everyone could watch the awards ceremony live. Various culinary delights were served during this event.
