Post-graduate programme 'Blue Resources for the Blue Economy' at Ghent University

Given the harsh conditions of the North Sea, you need to have very specific skills and competences to work in this environment. Unfortunately, there are few courses that focus explicitly on the blue economy. The sector is therefore facing a shortage of adequately trained staff.

Ghent University and the Irish Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology want to meet the demand for adequate staff by organising a new post-graduate programme together. The focus is on the latest developments in the blue economy and especially blue raw materials.

The programme also offers a lot of contact with the sector. An internship at a company in the blue economy is an essential element of the programme. It offers participants the chance to make useful contacts and acquire interesting competences.

The programme will officially start during an opening event at Bluebridge Science Park in Ostend from 10 to 14 January 2022. The programme will officially end with a closing event in Galway (Ireland) from 5 to 8 September 2022.
