It is Blue Cluster’s ambition to introduce our members into new international markets. Within this scope, we work together with Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) and partners in Belgium and abroad. In addition, we focus on the promotion of cooperation with foreign actors in the field of innovation.

Below, you can see a chronological overview of some interesting national and international activities in which you can participate in 2023. Be sure to note down the confirmed dates in your diary.

ELBE webinar on offshore wind & tidal energy in Canada (Jan/Feb)

AREG, one of our partners in the ELBE consortium, is organising a webinar with the Ocean Supercluster in Canada on the topic of opportunities in Canada in the field of tidal energy and offshore wind.

Inn2POWER seminar on offshore wind & hydrogen (9 March)

Within the scoope of the Inn2POWER project,  Blue Cluster is organising a seminar on the link between offshore wind and hydrogen in collaboration with POM West-Vlaanderen and WaterstofNet. This seminar is scheduled for the 2nd day of the Belgian Offshore Days.

Belgian Offshore Wind Energy stakeholder conference (21 March)

The Directorate-General for Energy of the FPS Economy, SMEs, Self-employed and Energy is organising a stakeholder conference on the development of the offshore wind zone in the Princess Elisabeth zone.

Offshore wind mission to the east coast of the US in the context of IPF (27-31 March)

This year's edition of the International Partnering Forum (IPF) for offshore wind takes place in late March. The location of the event is the city of Baltimore on the East Coast of the US.

Flanders Investment & Trade will once again organise a group stand and draw up a fringe programme. The mission is supported by Blue Cluster, Cluster, Agoria Energy Technology Club and Belgian Offshore Cluster (BOC).

ELBE seminar during WindEurope Copenhagen (25-27 April)

The WindEurope annual event is taking place in Copenhagen (Denmark) from 25 to 27 April. The ELBE consortium will present the services regarding innovation, internationalization and training that are offered to companies in the offshore wind sector in the context of the new Eurocluster project.

This includes financing for SMEs to address specific challenges faced by offshore wind developers and OEMs.

International seminar on Floating Offshore Wind in Brussels (June)

In June, Blue Cluster and Sirris/OWI-Lab are organising an international seminar on Floating Offshore Wind in Brussels. Various international players will be present. The aim of the event is to create opportunities for Flemish companies to set up innovative projects in Floating Offshore Wind together with foreign partners.

Offshore wind mission to Ireland (week of 12 June; TBC)

On 15 March 2022, more than 50 participants - 17 of them from Flanders - took part in a successful seminar on offshore wind in Dublin. In this context, Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT), Blue Cluster and Agoria Energy Technology Club are organising an offshore wind mission to Ireland once again this year.

The programme is in full swing. In addition to presentations on the current state of the industry in Ireland, there will be ample time for B2B matchmaking and visits to key players and testing facilities.

Wind Energy Trade Show in Dublin (11-12 October)

Flanders Investment & Trade will organise a group stand during the Wind Energy Trade Show in Dublin (Ireland). This group stond will be supported by Blue Cluster and Agoria Energy Technology Club.

ELBE offshore wind mission to South Korea (Sept/Oct/Nov)

In the context of the ELBE Eurocluster project, Blue Cluster is organizing an offshore wind mission to South Korea in the autumn with the cooperation of Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT). We will organise a webinar beforehand to provide more details about the local situation.

The date of this mission is not yet fixed and will be specified later.

Princely mission to Australia (23-27 October)

At the end of October, a Belgian Economic Mission to Australia will take place in the company of Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid. The program includes the cities of Sydney and Melbourne. The focus of the mission is, among other things, on renewable energy.
