The Belgian Navy recognises the importance of innovation and is therefore strongly committed to technological innovation. In the context of Technofest, the Navy’s technology weekend, a theme day on floating and underwater drones was organised on Friday 1 October in the port of Zeebrugge.

For this theme day, which was part of the Drone Innovations project, Blue Cluster and the Provincial Development Agency West Flanders invited various national and international companies and institutions to explain their plans and to show what products and services they can offer in the blue economy.

The programme included inspiration sessions with speakers from various organisations, as well as demonstrations from various companies and institutions. These demonstrations took place partly in the pool and partly at the docks. Afterwards, there was the opportunity to network during a buffet in the shipyard.

The weather was not great, but fortunately there was a bus taking the participants from one location to another over the course of the day. We would like to thank the navy again for its constructive cooperation and opening up this unique location.
