Blue Cluster at Ostend at Anchor

For five year, Blue Cluster has been committed to bringing companies, knowledge institutions and other organisations in the blue economy together to create innovative projects. It is therefore high time to review the state of affairs and look towards the future. 

We have chosen to do so in a very special setting: during Ostend at Anchor, which takes place from 1 to 4 June. We also want to use this opportunity to present innovative products, services and projects linked to the sea to the general public.

Our cooperation with Ostend at Anchor consists of two elements: 

• The celebration of our fifth anniversary
• The innovation village during Ostend at Anchor

We would like to elaborate on this below. Please keep in mind that the programme has not been finalised yet and is subject to change.

Celebration of our fifth anniversary (1 June)

We invite all our members and partners to celebrate our fifth anniversary with us in Ostend on Thursday 1 June. The preliminary programme is as follows:

• Excursion on the North Sea aboard a historic wooden ship
• Festive meeting in the VIP tent of Ostend at Anchor
• Extensive reception and buffet 
• Official opening of the innovation village

Interested in attending this event? Write down the dates in your diary. You will receive an official invitation for the event when the programme has been finalised.

The innovation village during Ostend at Anchor (1-4 June)

We will also organise an innovation village during Ostend at Anchor where organisations in the blue economy can present recent innovations to visitors of Ostend at Anchor. Last year, more than 185,000 people visited the event. It is therefore the perfect opportunity to reach a large and diverse audience and create support.

Would you like to contribute to this innovation village and occupy a stand? Keep in mind that mainly families with young children visit Ostend at Anchor. It is therefore crucial that you are able to present your innovations visually. Think, for instance, of demonstrations and scale models instead of panels with mainly text on them. 

This innovation village is not only open to members and partners, but also to external organisations. However, we do offer better conditions to our members and partners. It may be the perfect reason to become a member of Blue Cluster…

Some things to keep in mind:

If you would like to present your innovations at Ostend at Anchor, keep in mind that the event takes place over four days, and that you are expected to occupy your stand for each day of the event.

The space available for the innovation village is limited. If we receive too many applications for a stand, the ‘first come, first serve’ principle will be used.

Our members and partners will soon receive an invitation to participate in the innovation village with more practical information about the event.
