Blue Cluster and Marifish.Inc enter into a strategic partnership
Slightly less than a year ago, Marifish.Inc was launched on the initiative of the European Food Centre (EFC), Voka West-Vlaanderen and the Provincial Development Agency of West Flanders. The incubator aims to support projects and start-ups in aquaculture, innovative fisheries and marine data in their growth ambitions.
Unique concept
As an incubator, Marifish.inc offers a comprehensive model that includes intensive coaching, an entrepreneurial community and suitable acommodation.
“This model will enable numerous start-ups or projects active within our focus areas to create impact," says Sylvie Becaus, managing director of Vlaamse Visveiling (part of EFC) and chair of Marifish.Inc.
In the meantime, several start-ups have already chosen to do business with Marifish.inc, including:
- OceanBites;
- Vision 3F; and
- Omni-C.
Partnership
Marifish.Inc has the ambition to keep on growing, which is why it wants to act as an incubator not only for the fisheries and aquaculture sector, but also for other domains of the blue economy.
To this end, they have decided to team up with Blue Cluster. As a major network organisation for the broad blue economy, Blue Cluster strongly believes in setting up these types of initiatives.
“The goal is to jointly attract promising projects and start-ups that can benefit from the services offered by Marifish.Inc,” concludes Piet Opstaele, CEO of Blue Cluster.
