Offshore wind mission and participation in IPF 2022
President Biden has put climate change back on the political agenda in the United States. He resolutely focuses on offshore wind energy and aims to build no fewer than 7 large offshore wind farms by 2030. This also offers many opportunities to Flemish companies.
In August 2021, Blue Cluster organised a group business trip on offshore wind to Richmond (Virginia) in the context of IPF 2021, in cooperation with Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT). On the basis of positive reaction from participants, it was decided to organise a follow-up to this event in 2022.
FIT is leading the mission’s organisation this year and Blue Cluster plays a supporting role. The group business trip is linked to the International Partnering Forum, which is held in New Jersey this year. In addition to participation in the exhibition and a group stand at IPF, local meetings and visits are also scheduled.

Practical information
The cost of the mission is € 3,500 for a company’s first participant and € 2,000 for any additional participant. This price includes participation in the group stand at IPF, admission ticket for IPF, local transport, local meetings and visits as well as participation in the network event in New York.
All accommodation and travel costs in connection with the group business trip are at the expense of the participating companies. Do you run a small or medium-sized enterprise? Then you may be eligible for additional financial support from Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT). However, eligibility is subject to certain conditions.
