Blue Session on coastal protection infrastructure
In some locations on the coast, natural solutions are impossible or insufficient to ensure coastal safety. If so, flood-defence constructions such as a storm surge barrier or flood wall may provide a solution. Such hard structures can also be created sustainably.
On Wednesday 9 March, Blue Cluster organises a Blue Session on the topic of coastal protection infrastructure. The focus is on the major challenges and opportunities for the future.
During this event, several project results will be discussed, with numerous inspiring examples of how hard structures can be approached in an innovative manner.
In addition, there will be a presentation of the research embankment of the Living Lab Raversijde as well as a brainstorming session. In the afternoon, you will get the chance to visit the research embankment.
