History

As a biology and genetics graduate, Alik has always had a passion for marine biology. He pursued his dreams by embarking on a joint Master's degree called International Master's in Marine Biological Resources (IMBRSea) with several specialty tracks.

With the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, Alik studied at Ghent University and completed minor studies based on Marine Resource Valorization at the University of Côte d'Azur.

He also did a specialty track in Blue economy and sustainable use of marine resources at the University of Gothenburg, and participated in the conservation of our oceans as a marine mammal researcher in Montenegro and Turkey.

Thesis research

The thesis project "Integrated assessment of a Maripark as a Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) tool to promote Sustainable Blue Economy (SBE) in the North Sea Region", offered by Blue Cluster, immediately caught Alik's attention.

This project has great potential to facilitate the coexistence of various maritime activities in the North Sea, one of the busiest sea basins, while promoting sustainable resource utilization and economic growth.

We wish Alik every success and look forward to exploring the results of Alik's graduation research. We are very curious about the impact his research could have on the evolution of the sustainable blue economy and marine spatial planning, two areas that are crucial for the development of economic activities at, on and in the sea.
