Successful third edition of the Coastal scan
In accordance with the COVID-19 measures
In early June, the existing COVID-19 measures were significantly relaxed. Within those circumstances, it was possible to organise activities in open air again.
Unfortunately, the number of participants allowed at that time was still very limited. For this reason, only the Blue Cluster team participated in the event.
From East to West
This year, we were introduced to a number of interesting initiatives in Ostend, a city which profiles itself as an important actor in the blue economy.
We started this edition of the Coastal scan on Ostend’s’ East Bank and eventually ended the day on the West Bank beach.

The following topics were covered:
Trial project with marram grass on the East Bank beach in Ostend. | Steve Timmermans (Agency Maritime Services and Coast) Glenn Strypsteen (KU Leuven) |

Don’t want to wait for that? You can find some photos below. Or rewatch previous editions of the Coastal scan.
We would like to thank all speakers for the interesting presentations. Next year, we will continue along the Flemish coast. Hopefully, we will be able to invite our members and partners to physically participate in this unique event.
