On 28 September 2021, Blue Cluster welcomed 25 actors from the aquaculture sector during its second taskforce meeting on the topic of seafood. This time, the focus was on local value chains for marine aquaculture.

After a short introduction, the attendees were treated to some interesting presentations elaborating on a number of current aquaculture projects. More specifically, these included SYMAPA, Sea Farm Westdiep, BlueMarine3.0 and Seacrops.

Subsequently, Jurgen Adriaen (Bluebridge), Sylvie Becaus (Flemish fish auction), Margriet Drouillon (Ghent University), Karl Heire (KBC) and Hannelore Malfait (Province of West Flanders) discussed some pertinent questions.

A tour of the Oyster Pond was also scheduled, after which the participants could discuss the event and network with a snack and a drink in a cosy setting.

The taskforce’s presentations and a report of the panel discussion have already been made available. The right link will be sent by e-mail to all participants. Did you not receive this e-mail? Send a message to Lien Loosvelt.
