Participate in the Drought 3.0 Experimental Gardens call
In recent years, the risk of water scarcity in Flanders has made the news regularly. Measures such as a ban on filling swimming pools or watering the lawn are intended to secure the water supply, but there is clearly a problem: our groundwater level is too low.
Through the Drought Experimental Gardens, the Flanders Environment Agency aims to address this problem on two fronts: consuming less water on the one hand, and reusing water more on the other. A call is currently ongoing for companies wanting to set up an innovative project together to address this problem.
Conditions
To be eligible, a project must involve at least three companies and be realisable by July 2026. The required subsidy budget must be a minimum of €50,000, and the maximum subsidy rate is 75% of the project budget.
Interested? You have until 26 July 2021 to submit an initial proposal. The deadline for final proposals is 11 October 2021.

The Flanders Environment Agency organised an info session about this call on 11 May. The rules were explained and some questions were answered. Did you miss this session or were you unable to attend? Then you can rewatch the presentation of this info session now.
Smart WaterUse
Did you know that Blue Cluster is also committed to smart water use? The intercluster project Smart WaterUse includes the development of a water barometer that indicates how water-conscious a company is and how it deals with (potential) water risks. Demonstration workshops are also organised.
