Look back on the info session on the CO2 performance ladder

Sustainability is more than just a buzzword to Blue Cluster. We are therefore actively taking steps to help our members move towards more sustainable forms of business and provide relevant instruments to do so. One such example is the CO2 performance ladder.

Many companies are aware of the CO2 issue, but don’t really know how they can do their bit to do something about it. For this reason, Blue Cluster organised an info session on CO2 reduction with the CO2 performance ladder on Friday 11 June.

During this virtual info session, more than 50 participants were given a general explanation of the CO2 performance ladder. Then, various private and public organisations took the floor to share their experiences.

Poll

The participants were presented a number of questions in the form of polls during the info session. We will elaborate on some results below:

  • As many as 94% of the participants indicate that the CO2 performance ladder will become increasingly important in the future;
  • For more companies to use the CO2 performance ladder, there is essentially a need for more clients (28%); more cooperation and chain approach (17%); wider publication of the CO2 performance ladder (17%); and more training on the instrument (14%);
  • Blue Cluster can contribute to this by initiating various exchanges of experience (30%); facilitating joint actions and/or projects to make the sector more sustainable (27%); and formulating joint positions and standards - consultations with governments (21%).

Continuation

Blue Cluster was pleasantly surprised with the large turnout, and it is our intention to continue working on this topic in the future. We are, for instance, thinking of an extensive report, an overview of the answers to all questions and a number of follow-up activities.

Would you like to participate in the follow-up on this info session on CO2 reduction with the CO2 performance ladder or do you have any questions on this topic? Feel free to contact Karen Vanderstraeten.
