The blue economy is experiencing rapid growth and can contribute significantly to the realisation of the sustainable development goals of the United Nations. Many progressive companies and public services are working on these goals.
Blue Cluster wants to highlight some of these organisations and is therefore organising the third edition of the ‘Blue Innovation Awards’. These awards will be solemnly presented during the Blue Innovation Awards Party 2022 in Antwerp.

Who is eligible?
- You are a Belgian-based company or public service with ambitions in the blue economy.
- You present a project, product or service with an innovative and inspiring character that is close to the market or close to implementation.
- Your project, product or service preferably has multiple of the following characteristics:
- Relevant innovative solution to a sustainability issue;
- Link with economic activities in, on and around the sea;
- Market potential at home and/or abroad;
- International ambitions and/or realisations;
- Impact on economic, social and ecological aspects within the framework of sustainable development (more info: UN Sustainable Development Goals)

What is the procedure?
| 14 September | online info moment about your candidacy for the awards and the process |
| 5 October | deadline to submit your project, product or service via the entry form |
| 13 or 14 October | online presentation of your project, product or service to the jury, with representatives from Blue Cluster, Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Maritime Campus Antwerp, FIT and Bluebridge-Ostend Science Park (tbc) |
| 24 October | official announcement of the 8 laureates for the 5 Blue Innovation Awards 2022 |
| 15 December | the 8 laureates face off and the 5 winners will be announced during the Blue Innovation Awards Party in Antwerp. |

Why should you participate?
- Entering your product, project or service only takes ten minutes;
- All participants will receive feedback from the jury on their entry for the awards;
- All laureates can count on local and international exposure, and media coverage;
- All laureates will receive professional guidance to prepare;
- Winners will receive an award, can use the award logo in their communication and are in the spotlight for a year through various channels (including a stage at the Belgica Maritime Night in June 2023).
