The government, research institutions and the industry are carrying out all kinds of measurements on the North Sea.  One of the most frequently conducted types of measurements is hydrographic measurements. Various parties own bathymetric survey systems and collect bathymetric survey data on their own or via external parties.

Blue Cluster, the Agency Maritime Services and Coast (Flemish Hydrography) and the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) are organising two workshops on 9 and 23 June specifically focused on bathymetric data and on accessing and potentially reusing these data.

These workshops should result in recommendations on capturing and exchanging bathymetric data that both public and private parties can use.  These recommendations will be broadly promoted by Blue Cluster.

Workshop sessions

9 June Sharing experiences and needs in the various phases (planning, collecting and sharing data)
