Wave energy mission to Portland (Oregon)
Although wave energy is still not exploited very often, it has a potential similar to that of wind energy. According to the European Ocean Energy Association, it should be possible to achieve an installed capacity of approximately 188 GW in the European seas by 2050.
OffshoreVäst, the Swedish partner in the ELBE consortium, goes on a mission to Portland (Oregon) in September, within the scope of the Ocean Renewable Energy Conference. Meetings are scheduled with relevant companies such as Oscilla Power as well as site visits to the Siemens test site for wind turbines at Bellevue and other places of interest.
