New forms of collaboration have been possible within the agri-food chain since 2014. These include producer and branch organisations.

No specific legislation currently exists on the recognition of producer and branch organisation in the aquaculture sector. Moreover, it remains unclear to many companies what is understood by these terms.

For this reason, Inagro organises an information session on 25 March 2022, in cooperation with Blue Cluster and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. The following topics will be addressed during the session:

  • What is a producer organisation (PO) and/or a branch organisation (BO)?
  • Who can participate in and/or found such an organisation?
  • What needs to be done in this regard and what are the benefits?
