Advancing together towards a climate-resilient coast
Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) are much more than technical interventions in the landscape. They require a different way of thinking and collaborating – a mental shift, new governance models, and adapted financing. Only in this way can we build a resilient coast that can withstand the challenges of tomorrow.
Blue Cluster is eager to continue this journey together with the entire NBS community, with innovation as the starting point. On 23 October 2025, we are organizing a follow-up workshop where we will jointly explore the next steps towards concrete realizations in the specific context of three coastal municipalities, and map out the path towards large-scale applications of NBS along our coastline.
🔹 How can we translate local needs into supported solutions?
🔹 What do companies, policymakers, and researchers need from each other?
🔹 What concrete opportunities are already available for the taking?
Programme
We will start with a recap and share the key feedback from the past year. After that, we will dive deeper into three concrete cases in De Haan, De Panne, and Koksijde through breakout sessions.
The insights will then be brought together in a plenary discussion. We will conclude the substantive part with a forward-looking perspective: how can we leverage and accelerate innovation so that NBS contribute to a resilient and attractive coastline of the future?
Of course, we will also provide time for networking over lunch.
The detailed program will be announced later.
